Infrared reflectography (IR) is a non-invasive investigation that exploits the ability of infrared radiation to penetrate the surface layers of a painting, facilitating the cognitive phase in the restoration of works of art. The investigation allows us to highlight any preparatory drawings, artist's pentimenti and/or information on the state of conservation of the painting, highlighting fillings and repainting.
